Kyle Maynard is an incredible GA wrestler who was born without arms below the elbows or legs below the knees, a condition knows as “Congenital Amputation.” Despite a condition that may have limited many of us, Kyle has not let it stop him in the least.

After earning a formidable reputation as a high school wrestler – winning 35 matches at varsity level and placing in the top 10 in his state tournament. He is now studying Jiu-Jitsu and wants to compete in MAA. He indicated that he knows and understands the sport and believes he can compete on a part with other MMA practitioners, but the GA State Commission refused to issue him a license.

What do you think of that decision?

Do you think there should be limitations placed on adult individuals of sound mind who want to try out MMA events?

Background: This was my first MMA Fight that took place in Portland, OR. It is a novice fight so it is not quite as “clean” as a pro MMA fight. My opponent may have been about 5lbs lighter than me but had 2 amateur level cage fights. This guy was no slouch…

Hind sight is 20/20: My main concern in this fight was getting taken down as I was informed my opponent was primarily a submission wrestler. It turns out that he has mostly a kickboxing background, had I known this I was definitely have been less gun shy on my feet. I was in decent shape for this fight, but I still gassed a bit towards the end. Hands up, hands up, hands up…

This was a close fight, and it doesn’t really matter to me who may have won. I’m just glad that I was able to put on an entertaining fight for my teammates and friends that came to watch. I’m happy with my performance this being my first fight and I was able to overcome that initial hurdle. I learned a lot from this fight after watching this video again and I’m already looking forward to my next fight…

Enjoy!

How old are you suppose to be to buy MMA gloves because me and my friend are planning to buy it in Dick’s Sporting Goods tomorrow. Yahoo answers probably blocked that word lol.

Some big names and some no names all showing the lighter side of MMA by making fools of themselves, joking around and just being downright rowdy. See more at http://www.mma-fight-videos.com .
