I am 37 and looking to compete in MMA in unsanctioned matches. I have trained in Muay Thia for a year but have no grappling training. Is competing in unsanctioned matches on the independent circuit a reasonable goal at my age?

Its pretty old, but because you will be fighting amateur, it isn’t so bad. You can hand pick fighters with guys in your age range. So I will say, its alright.

    You better start grappling.

The average 37 year old you need at least six months of hard core training in jujitsu then go ahead and pound it really does change the grappling.
An amateur fight try to find school that teaches ground and pound it really does change the grappling game lot.
The average 37 year old you are way harder than the average 37 year old you are way harder than the average 37 year old you are way harder than the average 37 year old.
